Flatten Your Abs & a cool video…

One of the most common questions I get is how to get rid of the pooch belly and finally flatten your abs!

If you followed the past few posts, you would have learned of foods that can trigger bloating, digestive disorders and other health problems.

If you pay attention to what you eat, you will discover some of the ‘health’ foods you might
be eating are not so healthy.

If you want results – there are certain things you must do in a certain way.  This is the first and most important of those certain things – paying attention to and identifying what does not work for your body.

The next step is UNDERSTANDING the steps involved and then applying them.

Results are not random and dont come from desperate measures like fasting, dieting and hard group fitness classes.

If you are one of the millions who wants to get a quick fix and skip over the real deal, then your in for a
long, confusing and disappointing struggle.  You will have plenty of company and glossy colorful magazines to support your journey, but you wont get results.

The third rule of flat abs is:
3 – There are NO quick fixes to problems that took 15+ yrs to create.

4 – Eliminate all foods that cause bloating & gas.

5 – Never skip meals.

6 – Eat 4-6 times per day – no matter what!

7 – Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day.  If you are peeing a lot, then add a pinch of Celtic sea salt to your water bottles.

8 – Eat fat, protein and carb at each meal. Not sure which fats, proteins and carbs or how much are right for you?  Get my book when it comes out in the next week or two.  I will offer a killer discount for the first 2 or 3 days only for my loyal readers and it will include bonus gifts and an exclusive fat burning interview where I reveal all of my secrets.

9 – Get to bed by 10:30 pm every night – no matter what.  Staying up late produces cortisol (stress hormone) which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get healthy and lose fat.  It also encourages fat to be stored around your mid-section.  Coffee addiction does the same thing, by the way.

10 – Exercise the right way, the right amount and eat immediately after your workout.  By the way, exercising the right way does not include long boring cardio sessions. Too much cardio inhibits fat loss.

11 – Not sure exactly how to train for best results – get a coach, not a trainer. A coach is someone who will work with you and support you & not only design an exercise program based on your body, your posture and your goals – but also take into consideration other lifestyle factors that affect your ability to get results including stress.  A trainer is someone who counts reps and talks to others while you are doing
exercises that are largely ineffective.

12 – Crunches and abs classes do not create a killer 6 pack. Total body strength training and interval training does. The right kind of core conditioning does. Avoiding the foods and alcohol that make you fat does.  You must also eat foods that make you lean as well.

13 – I am going to cover the right exercises for flattening your abs in the next few blog posts so stay tuned…

In fact, if you follow my blog, I will be giving away an incredible fr.e.e report on the best ab exercises for
flattening your abs in the next week or two.

In the meanwhile, check out these core exercises from Craig Ballantyne, one of the FEW people I respect in the fitness industry.  Watch yourself in the mirror or practice with a friend to make sure your posture is correct when you do these.

  1. I just have to preface this w/ the fact that I adore your blog and this is one of the few which I regularly read and agree with. That being said…I do not appreciate you stating that all trainers are just rep counters and give ineffective advice and exercise programs. I love being a trainer and I do not consider anything I do to be ineffective. I absolutely “coach” my clients, do a postural anaylsis, customize an efficient as well as EFFECTIVE program based on their body, fitness levels, and comfort levels. So please do not make vast generalizations about a given profession- we are not all rep-countin’, protein-chuggin’ muscle heads. Sincerely, Amanda

  2. Wait, I didn’t know Coffee stores fat! If this is true then now I know why two years worth of ab-crunches and sickly dieting didn’t work. I slurp 2-3 cups of delicious cappuccino everyday and good news is that I’m an addict..whoa
