Want a great shake recipe?
You can use water or make your own almond milk as your base. I am not a huge fan of the almond/rice milks you can buy at the health food store because they usually have canola oil or some synthetic crappy ingredient, so either make your own (recipe in my cookbook or find it online), get raw milk (as long as your not allergic) or just use water. Do not use pasteurized milk or soy milk.
1 – 1.5 cups liquid
3-4 dates (pitted)
2 tbs almond butter
dash of cinnamon or allspice
Protein – your choice. I do not recommended body builder protein powders, but whatever you normally use should be fine for now. I use 2 raw egg yolks from pastured chickens. If you use raw eggs, remember to blend them for only a few seconds and only use truly pastured eggs…
Take into account your metabolic type and you can tweak it accordingly.
Blend it up and there you go….
